Waffle House Waffle Recipe: Copycat Recipe

Ingredients: 

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp. granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp. shortening 
  • ½ cup half-and-half (a combination of equal parts milk and cream)
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • ¼ tsp. vanilla

Instructions: 

  1. First, mix flour, salt and baking soda in a bowl. Stir well to combine.
  2. In another bowl, lightly beat the egg and combine with sugar, butter and shortening.
  3. Mix the combination until it is smooth.
  4. Next, add the half-and-half, milk, buttermilk and vanilla. Mix it well.
  5. Then, add the dry flour mixture to the wet mixture while beating. Mix until it is smooth.
  6. After that, prepare your waffle iron by rubbing a light coating of vegetable oil on it. Then, preheat it.
  7. Scoop ⅓  to ½ cup of batter into the waffle iron and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until the waffles are light brown.
  8. When the waffles are ready, add your favourite toppings on them and enjoy!
